DESIGNING AN AUTOMATIC URINAL FLUSHING

URINAL FLUSHING SYSTEM

An automatic flushing system having an electrically-operated flush valve. But A sensor for determining the presence of a person and a control circuit responsive to the sensor for initiating the operation of the flush valve.

Urinal is a bowl or other receptable typically attached to a wall in a public toilet into which men may urinate.

The urinal at public restroom is important place in our societies. Especial because in a place where there is a big number people like school and hospital. After the urination, flush to eliminate bad smell (odor).

The existing system is operating manually by using mechanical cork. This system needs a user to be active for flushing immediately after using. Bad odor (smell) and unpleasant environment are common in the most public restroom. Such situation is outbreak of infectious diseases over the whole

DATA ANALYSIS

POWER CIRCUIT

Transformer primary voltage=220V ac, frequency, f=50Hz

Turns ratio Np:Ns=270:15

Transformer secondary voltage;-

V1:V2=N1:N2 but

V2=V1*N2/N1

V2=220*15/270

V2=12.2Vac

The secondary voltage is 12V ac

so Bridge rectifier

The rectification is done by using silicon diode(0.7V)

Total voltage for the diodes , Vd=2×0.7

=1.4V

Now,

The choice of Transformer is obtained as follows: –

V sec=Vrmsx1.414

V sec=1.414×12.2V

=17.25V

Output voltage, Vo=V(sec)-Vd

Vo=17.25-1.4

Vo=15.85V

Filter

Assuming ripple factor is 7%=0.07 but

Frequency=50Hz

Resistance, R=V/Ic

From the datasheet

Ic=Transformer current=500mA

R=17.25V/500×10^-3

R=34.5V

CONCLUSION

The designed system aim to improving the existing one in the
sense that it will minimize the unnecessary wastage of water. It will also provide the most convenient and sanitary way to flush the urinal, thus reducing the school water bills

society so as to be implemented largely in use so that it can eliminate the problem of water loss and disease caused by utilized usage of toilet. But Also the project can be complemented in further continuation where the missing component will be found and hence fulfill the requirements. BUT Since the project is likely to succeed it can be used in most areas where they are using flushing system in toilets. So, The project should be taken under consideration so as completely to clean away waste product and
maintain water loss.
